:) Good question. Usually the batteries are in the same place as the camera, but they do sometimes go their separate ways. I suspect in this case the camera was hiding beneath a pile of stuff.
Horticulture books are more like dream books... with lots of ideas flagged but thwarted by a lack of time, energy, and an acceptable horticultural zone. Oh, and the presence of a hound dog, who "stomples" everything. So much for my pink columbine. :( Some might say, so much for that hound dog, too!
Traveler, reader, scuba diver, miniaturist, occasional vacuumer and happiest person I know for no apparent reason (which is arguably the best kind of happy).

Why camera batteries and no camera? Do the horticulture books mean that an idea for a garden has been planted or that your house plants are dying?

Dog also = no fig trees in living room. I remember those days!
